The new judge is the only woman among the members of the Consulta, and the third woman to become a member in the history of the Court after Fernanda Contri and Maria Rita Saulle. Marta Cartabia, 48 years old Constitutional Law Professor at Milano Bicocca University, is one of the youngest judges ever appointed.
