How to use SensusAccess Conditions of use Help and support SensusAccess SensusAccess is an online document conversion system that converts text and image-based files into more accessible formats. It can also be used to transform text and image-based files into different outputs including audio, Braille, or e-text formats. To convert your document into an accessible alternative format use the SensusAccess conversion form. What can it be used for? SensusAccess allows users to convert text and image-based files into more accessible formats. With SensusAccess, you can convert your readings, slides and lecture notes into formats that work best for you such as: MP3 files e-books digital Braille books structured audio books in DAISY and e-books with media overlay. You can also use SensusAccess to convert scanned PDF documents, pictures of text captured with your smartphone as well as PowerPoint presentations into formats that are more useful for you or easier to work with. Who can use it? SensusAccess is available to EUI researchers, faculty, Library staff and alumni to automatically convert documents into various alternative formats. There are many reasons to use SensusAccess. SensusAccess may help users who: are having difficulties with printed text want to experiment with different learning styles need assistance when reading text in a foreign language want to make their readings available on the go. How to use SensusAccess SensusAccess is provided by EUI to augment your alternate media needs. The service is provided through the EUI website and you will need your EUI email address to access the service. Using the SensusAccess conversion form, you simply: 1. upload your document to SensusAccess 2. select how you want it converted; and 3. enter your EUI email address Once your document is ready, you will receive an email in your inbox. SensusAccess is entirely automated and the documents you submit to the service are automatically deleted once they have been converted. You do not need to worry about keeping your privacy as SensusAccess does not store personal information. Conditions of use This service is provided exclusively for purposes of educational, research and non-commercial use only. Responsibility for any copyright infringement rests with the end user. The end user is authorised to use the converted file in an accessible format only and exclusively for personal use. Neither the EUI nor SensusApS will be held responsible for any information disclosed and/or used improperly. The end user is responsible for the safekeeping of the material made available which must be used without infringing the intellectual property rights of the relative authors. It is recommended not to use this service for sending and exchanging confidential or private information.
