People of the ECO Department

The Department of Economics brings together leading scholars in an outstanding research and teaching environment

The Department of Economics has 13 full-time faculty, more than 100 researchers of over 30 nationalities, 15 fellows, and accepts visiting scholars from around the world.

In addition, each year the department hires a number of part-time professors from leading universities to give a wide range of advanced and specialised courses.

The Department aims at producing theoretical and applied research, contributing both to the advancement of our knowledge about the complexity of the economic systems and to inform and guide the policy debate on economic and social issues in the European Union and beyond.

Its structured PhD programme aims at producing the future generation of top-class researchers in Economics working in academia and in the public and private sector, mostly in Europe but also throughout the world.
