Programme Description
We are pleased to announce the Summer School on AI & Law, which will be held at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, from 8 to 10 July 2019. The Summer School is jointly hosted by the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (U.S.A.). It is also sponsored by Cirsfid-University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), The University of Konstanz, the University of Swansea and the European Academy of Legal Theory, the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands). This is the first edition of the summer school. The summer school will take place at European University Institute, Badia Fiesolana.

Provisional program and main topics:
Day 1: Introduction to AI & law, knowledge representation and rule-based systems
Day 2: Modelling legal argument, case-based reasoning, evidential reasoning
Day 3: Machine learning and legal analytics
