EUIdeas: the power of knowledge

EUIdeas is the new research festival of the European University Institute. It brings together academics, students, artists and citizens at the Badia Fiesolana to explore how knowledge and research can respond to our society’s transformations. This year’s edition will highlight the responsibility of universities to inform choices, renew institutions, and help navigate uncertainty, including the transformations brought by technological developments and the current geopolitical environment.

OPEN

On the evening of 7 May we inaugurate OPEN, a new exhibition space at Palazzo Buontalenti. Realised with the Agenzia del Demanio, local partners, and Museo Novecento, this exhibition bridges contemporary art and academic research to explore the invisible foundations of economic life. The journey invites visitors to reflect on gleaning, exhaustion, irreversibility, and mutation, with the opening evening enhanced by immersive video projections and a sound garden in the central courtyard.

Florence State Archives and EUI sign Agreement for SAGA exhibitions

The Director of the State Archives of Florence Paola D’Orsi and European University Institute Secretary General Armando Barucco signed an agreement to collaborate on exhibitions from the ‘Sustainable Archives and Greener Approaches’ project, in which the Historical Archives of the European Union is partner.

Open Day at the Historical Archives on Saturday 9 May: Save the date!

To mark Europe Day and celebrate the European University Institute’s 50th anniversary, the Historical Archives of the European Union will welcome the public to Villa Salviati on 9 May for a full day of guided visits, concerts, historical reenactments, and activities for all ages.
