Following the President’s  ‘Maximum activity with maximum safety’ message,  the Law Department has resumed its activities on campus.

As of 1 September, relying on a hybrid system combining online and presence-based activities, we have been busy organising our first hybrid thesis defences, working group meetings and welcoming new Fellows.
On Wednesday, 9 September the Head of the Law Department, Professor Deirdre Curtin, welcomed the 37 newly admitted LLM and PhD researchers
During the induction programme, researchers met the Law Department Faculty, the administration, the researchers’ representatives and the Law Max Weber Fellows, who shared with them useful tips and insights. They participated in specific sessions on research methods and on the supervisory relationship, as well as on diversity in Academia. The induction programme included also presentations of the Library and its resources and a guided tour of the beautiful Villa Salviati and the Historical Archives of the European Union. Organised respecting the specific Covid security and safety measures at the European University Institute, this was the first group visit to take place at the Archives since early March.
