On 13 September 2018, EUI President Renaud Dehousse and the Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Council (GSC) Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen signed a partnership agreement between the European University Institute and the General Secretariat of the Council (GSC).
The GSC is the body of staff responsible for assisting the European Council and the Council of the EU, including its presidencies, the Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) and the other Council committees and working parties.
The agreement aims to encourage cooperation between the two entities. Collaboration may involve joint research activities and co-organised events; mutual access to professional training initiatives; visiting fellowships and researcher internships; staff mobility and staff exchanges; and inter-archival and inter-library cooperation.
The agreement follows the one signed earlier this year with the European Parliament, and furthers the Institute's objective of strengthening ties and cultivating synergies with the European Institutions. The agreement has a duration of three years.
