Programme Description
To promote youth engagement in multilateralism and support the next generation of diplomats, particularly from underrepresented countries at the United Nations, the President of the 76th Session of the General Assembly (PGA) has established the “PGA Fellowship for Harnessing Opportunities for Promoting Empowerment of Youth” (PGA Fellowship for HOPE).
The fellowship will bring to New York, Brussels, Geneva, Bern and Florence 8 young diplomats/civil servants from underrepresented countries at the United Nations, particularly from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), while also ensuring geographical representation and gender balance.
The School of Transnational Governance will host the fellows for two days in Florence and has organised a set of workshops in its core areas, including on democracy, human rights and the rule of law, global governance and especially the EU’s perspective on multilateralism. These sessions will be complemented by visits, group discussions, and a rich social programme.
This is a tailored event organised in cooperation with the United Nations. If you are interested in working with us on a programme tailored to your organisation's needs, you can find more information here.
