The Law working paper series is designed to communicate the work of the Law Department and those strongly associated with it. Authors submitting a working paper must have a substantial connection with the Department. For example, submission of papers is welcomed by current professors, former professors, researchers, visiting fellows, Max Weber Fellows and authors working on projects in collaboration with members of the department. If you have any questions concerning the requirement of substantial connection please contact the editor of the Law working paper series (currently Professor Loïc Azoulai ) before submitting your paper.
Proposal
To publish a working paper, authors should submit a copy by e-mail attachment to [email protected]. The paper will be reviewed, normally by one of the full-time professors, who will make a recommendation as to whether it is suitable for publication. Authors can expect to hear back within four weeks, but should also bear in mind that there are certain periods in the academic year when it may take longer for the review process to be completed.
Formatting
Authors are requested to submit working papers in Word format, accompanied by a 250-word abstract and a list of keywords (maximum 5). Authors should follow the formatting guidelines for working papers and are recommended to use the template. For more general matters, please refer to the EUI Publications Manual. Documents that are not submitted following the formatting recommendations may be refused.
After the working paper is approved for publication by the referee, the author will be contacted for the final version of the paper. Once the formatting is complete, the author will be requested to complete an Agreement to Publish form, after which the working paper will be sent for publication on the EUI repository and publications database, Cadmus. Please note that the working paper will not be published until the Agreement to Publish is received.
Publication
The publication will be announced on the Law Department publications webpage. Law working papers dealing with European integration can be uploaded to the European Research Papers Archive (ERPA) - please contact the Library for more information about this.
Printing
Upon exceptional request and approval by the Head of Department, a maximum of 10 working papers may be printed. Additional copies may be ordered at the expense of the author.
