The Committee meets to deal with the day-to-day management of the Institute. It prepares decision-making documents for the Academic Council, and is part of the decision-making process which leads to High Council decisions.
A number of tasks are delegated to the Executive Committee by the Academic Council, for example:
- approval of the composition of examining boards
- nomination of research assistants and postdoctoral fellows
- nomination of visiting professors and part-time professors
