Introduction to Research Project Management

This workshop is currently not on offer

Background

The ability to complete our research on time, on budget and to a high standard is critical to our success as a researcher. It is especially important if we have secured financial support or sponsorship. However it is not always easy, in the early stages, to predict the duration of a project, to anticipate the extent of the work needed or the time required to achieve a satisfactory conclusion. There are several useful project planning and management tools that we can use to keep our work on track.

This session will be especially valuable to researchers who are starting their research but will also be of interest to those who are part of the way through and who wish to reflect on, revisit or revise their project timetable.

What You Will Learn

This session introduces participants to a number of project planning and management tools that can be used to keep our work on track. It offers practical guidance to ensure that we continue to work efficiently to complete our research on time and on budget and that we deliver our intended outputs.
