EUI-TSH Changemaker Scholarships
In partnership with the European University Institute (EUI), The Social Hub (TSH) Talent Foundation has introduced the EUI-TSH Changemaker Scholarship to support talented students, researchers and fellows with a potential for leadership and change and facing socio-economic or cultural disadvantages.
The EUI-TSH Changemaker Scholarship provide complete coverage of housing expenses for 10 months for selected scholars (September-June).
Beyond accommodation support, beneficiaries will participate in a structured series of training workshops on leadership development, upskilling, personal growth and networking for a total of 10 hours across the 10 months. The programme aims to cultivate a new generation of changemakers who excel in their fields and lead and inspire societal transformation in Europe and worldwide.
For the academic year 2025-26, six (6) beneficiaries at the EUI will be supported.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, scholars must meet the following criteria:
Be admitted to and be subsequently registered in one of the following programmes at EUI:
- PhD programme
- Master of Arts in Transnational Governance
- Master of Research in Economics
- LLM Programme in Comparative, European and International Laws
- Policy Leader Fellowship
And meet all the following requirements:
- Have received a scholarship or financial waiver or face personal safety or financial challenges that jeopardize their enrolment.
- Be the recipient of a tuition fee waiver, financial contribution, or scholarship that permits compatibility with additional sources of funding.
- Demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for successful participation in the programme.
Additionally, the scholar should come from one or more of the following backgrounds:
- Limited access to financial, educational, social, or health resources, including disability.
- Refugee or has recently arrived in Europe and is entering the European higher-education system for the first time.
- First-generation university student.
- Part of the LGBTQI+ community facing personal safety concerns due to their identity.
Award Conditions
The Changemaker Scholarship programme includes the following components:
- Accommodation and Development: The Foundation offers a free room at The Social Hub in Florence (either Belfiore or Lavagnini location) for 10 months (i.e. 1 September 2025 to 30 June 2026). The room includes a private bathroom, study desk, TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, linen, towels, cleaning and access to a fully equipped shared kitchen (including cutlery and utensils). Scholars will also have access to the on-site laundry, coworking spaces, gym access, and a comprehensive skills and wellbeing programme. Apart from this, the scholar will participate in an upskilling programme that constitutes five sessions (max. 10 hours) over the year on themes like self-awareness, storytelling, well-being, etches. - Personal Growth: Scholars will be paired with a mentor from the TSH community that involves TSH employees, members, and ambassadors. Also, they will have the opportunity to participate in social and cultural events organised at the hotel and benefit from the hotel’s comprehensive skill and well-being programme.
- Network and Collaboration: Student will have the option to participate in social activities organized at their hotel. Upon completion of the Programme, they will gain membership in the TSH network, which includes the Changemaker Community of former participants and all other TSH stakeholders.
