The STG Talks, held weekly at Palazzo Buontalenti, serve as a space for discussion for the STG community and beyond. Led by the STG Fellows, the talks are a place for informal learning and exchange on global issues affecting different areas of policymaking.
The session will start with a 45 minute panel around the theme of 'Citizen Power Europe' which connects the challenge of bolstering democracy in the EU with the new geopolitical challenges of our time.
Since one part of the discussion will deal with the role of Citizens Assemblies in European beyond, we will hold a citizen assembly format discussion in the remaining time to debate what is to be done to bolster 'Citizen power Europe'.
Speakers:
- Kalypso Nicolaidis, Full-time Professor, Chair in Global Affairs, STG
- Enoch Aikins, Fellow in Young African Leaders Programme
- Teona Nesovic, Research Assistant
- James Mackay, Research Associate, STG
- Andrea Gaiba, Project Associate, STG
- Réka Heszterényi, Master Student, STG
- Camille Dobler, Visiting Fellow, STG
The event will be held in a hybrid setting (in person in Court room, Palazzo Buontalenti and on Zoom). When registering please indicate if you wish to attend the event in person or online. Zoom link will be provided upon registration.
