Join the Policy Leader Fellows at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) for an expert panel discussion on governance of digital platforms.

Digital platforms have grown exponentially across geographies. While these platforms have significantly contributed to the growth of digital economies, they have also been charged with misuse of monopoly powers. The panel will deliberate upon how trade policies pertaining to goods and services could help growth of digital platforms and how competition policies can be tuned to curtail the abuse of dominant power by digital platforms so as to strike a balance between the interests of digital platforms, associated vendors and consumers.

Opening remarks: Professor Alison Harcourt, University of Exeter, UK

Moderator: Pralok Gupta, Policy Leader Fellow

Panelists:

Torbjörn Fredriksson, Head, E-commerce and Digital Economy Branch, UNCTAD

Martín Molinuevo, Senior Counsel, Digital Trade Global Lead, World Bank

Simon Lacey, Senior Lecturer, Institute of International Trade, University of Adelaide, Australia
