In July 2021, the European Commission published drafts of the revised Vertical Block Exemption Regulation (VBER) and Vertical Guidelines (VGL) to gather stakeholder comments. The public consultation period ended in September 2021. In such a context, the Competition Law Working Group welcomes Svend Albaek, DG Competition, Adviser to the Chief Economist, for a lecture on the substantial aspects of the modernisation of the VBER and VGL and the European Commission-led process of public consultation. To familiarise with the subject, we recommend taking a look at the European Commission’s website. The Competition Law Working Group is a forum where EUI members and external researchers working on antitrust law and economics issues present and discuss their research and interact with other scholars. All interested fellows, PhD researchers, professors and visiting academics are invited to participate.
