On the fifth anniversary of the signature of the Final Peace Agreement, in this webinar organised by the Latin America Focus Group of the EUI School of Transnational Governance, the expert panel will discuss the Colombian Peace Process.

November 2021 marks the fifth anniversary of the signature of the Final Peace Agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People's Army (FARC-EP). In this webinar, organised by the Latin America Focus Group of the EUI School of Transnational Governance, drawing from the voices of various involved actors, this interdisciplinary and multicultural panel will discuss the current challenges to its implementation, as well as opportunities for the future, both within and beyond the Colombian transitional justice context.

  • Davide Riccardi, PhD in Social Sciences at Universidad del Norte and Postdoctoral Fellow in General Sociology at University of Pavia. 
  • Julie Wetterslev, PhD researcher in International Law at the European University Institute. 
  • Jairo Agudelo Taborda, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Sciences and International Relations at Universidad del Norte and Director of the European Studies Institute.
  • Farid Samir Benavides Vanegas, Assistant Judge at the SJP & Maria Darder Martí, Legal Volunteer Advisor for Lawyers Without Borders Canada (LWBC) in Colombia.
  • Jorge Enrique Garcia Rincon, Territorial Coordinator for the department of Tumaco at the Colombian Truth Commission.
  • Carlos Fonseca Sánchez, Legal Officer at Colombian Special Jurisdiction for Peace (SJP) and Lecturer in International Criminal Law at the National University of Colombia.

The event will take place online on zoom. All are welcome to attend and take part in the Q&A. Simultaneous translation between English and Spanish will be provided. Please register to participate.
