Considering the recent renewed commitment of the EUI to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) recommendations, this panel will discuss how the value of Openness can (or can’t) drive practices and decision-making at the EUI when it comes to:
• Research transparency in Social Sciences and Humanities
• Equitable access to knowledge and to research results from public funded academic institutions
• The system of mandates, incentives and rewards that is emerging in policies (institutional, national, European and beyond) to make Open Science the norm
