This workshop will introduce the modelling and assessment elements of these stress tests and discuss its broader implications. The European Central Bank (ECB) has launched several policy initiatives over the past few years. In 2022 the ECB developed a climate stress test for private banks within the EU. Carmelo Salleo, Head of the Stress Test Modelling Division, ECB has been deeply involved in the technical elaboration of several of these initiatives. During this workshop, he will introduce the modelling and assessment elements of these stress tests. The following debate will address the following questions: What do the climate stress test cover and what not? To whom are they applicable? How is this policy going to be phased in and when will the system operate at full speed? One of the burning questions is whether the original planning will be influenced by the looming recession and other economic worries, following the war in Ukraine? The event is a closed workshop organised by STG Climate. Participation by invitation only. Contact(s): STG Climate Scientific Organiser(s): Jos Delbeke (EUI School of Transnational Governance) Speaker(s): Carmelo Salleo
