In this inaugural event of the EUI Finance, Innovation and Business Regulation Working Group, Professor Kenneth Amaeshi will reflect on the purpose of sustainable finance, drawing from the literature on corporate sustainability and the philosophy of markets.

Sustainable finance has become a pervasive and influential concept, especially in the EU. Yet, it remains imprecisely defined and is open to diverse interpretations. This is especially pertinent in light of recent debates regarding the sustainability of nuclear energy and natural gas, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
