Led by the STG Fellows, the talks are a place for informal learning and exchange on global issues affecting different areas of policymaking. Transparency is an important component of ensuring trust, accountability, and legitimacy in democracies and market economies. While significant strides have arguably been made to guarantee public access to crucial information affecting public policy in various areas of governance, the panel presentation will take a critical look at the sufficiency of these measures and explore possible ways to address any deficit in the current system. Reflective of their diverse backgrounds, the panelists will discuss this overarching topic of transparency from the perspective of media, finance, international investment, public registry information, and maritime governance.Moderator:Zselyke Csaky, Policy Leader FellowPanelists:Sarah Cruz, Policy Leader FellowAni Hovhannisyan, Policy Leader FellowAleksei Karnaukhov, Policy Leader FellowVanessa Mutunga, Young African Leader FellowStephanie Oserwa Schandorf, Young African Leader FellowThis is an in-person event.
