The roundtable will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on science advice in policy-making. It focusses on successes and challenges related to the generation of knowledge and the use of science advice during the pandemic. Special attention will be given to the role of social and behavioural sciences as well as humanities. The roundtable will furthermore discuss lessons learnt from COVID-19 for science advice in policy-making under stress. In this dimension, speakers will focus on essential questions of the use of science advice for complex political decision preparation and decision-making under the conditions of uncertainty.
