Between 6–9 June 2024, millions of European citizens participate in shaping the future of European democracy on the occasion of the elections of the European Parliament. What are the results? Did the ‘sharp turn to the right’ that many commentators predicted materialise?This roundtable will gather contributions from four panellists: Gaby Umbach, Simon Hix, Costanza Hermanin and Kalypso Nicolaidis. The event discusses the results and the consequences of this election for alliances and the next European Commission, the democratic outlook in certain countries and, more generally, the policy agenda for the next parliament.
