A inter-disciplinary workshop examining European political economy in the 1970s and 1980s from historical, political and economic points of view.

This workshop on the financial history of Europe brings together economic historian Marion Tosolini, PhD candidate at the Université de Lorraine and Judith Koch, research student in international relations at the University of Sussex.

Participants, along with discussants Professors Waltraud Schelkle and Emmanuel Mourlon-Druol, and EUI Max Weber Fellow Pierre Alayrac will exchange perspectives from their research dealing with a range of economic topics in European history: borrowing policies of the ECSC and EEC; debates on how to quash inflation; and the sources of dollar dominance in European financial infrastructure in the 1970s and 1980s.

All are welcome - please register.

The Alcide De Gasperi Centre supports young researchers working in areas related to the history of European integration and cooperation. It coordinates networks of historians, facilitates the use of primary sources and increases public interest in the history of European integration.
