This book launch will be centred around a discussion of the 'Cambridge Handbook of Comparative Law', which aims to present a truly global perspective of comparative law today.

The Cambridge Handbook of Comparative Law (2024), aims to present a truly global perspective of comparative law today. The contributors are drawn from all parts of the world to provide different perspectives on key topics of comparative law. In total, the handbook contains 36 chapters which are divided under the following main parts: ‘Methods of Comparative Law’ , ‘Legal Families and Geographical Comparisons’, ‘Central Themes in Comparative Law’; and ‘Comparative Law Beyond the State’.

In this book launch event, nine authors will be present in person, and some further authors will be online. They will present their chapters, and will discuss how far today’s alleged ‘era of comparative law’ may need to revisit some of the assumptions of prior approaches to comparative law.
