The Visual and Material History Working Group aims to broaden the scope in its second roundtable talk. What shaped early modern Tuscany as a region of importance in the Mediterranean? What role did material and visual culture play in establishing its name in the wider world?'Tuscany' is a name that has transcended locations and evokes stories of power, money, dynasty, intrigue, and fame, as much as Florence.
