Working with the media allows academics to get their research findings to broader audiences. But what do journalists expect? And how do academics engage in a way that also works for them?Join Flora Garamvolgyi, investigative reporter at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Hungarian service and a contributing writer at The Guardian, and Roeland Scholtalbers, Interim Head of the EUI Communications Service, for a conversation about the interaction between journalists and academics. Flora Garamvolgyi has been covering foreign affairs for more than a decade with a focus on Hungary, the far-right, and transatlantic relations. Garamvolgyi joined the EUI as the first Journalist-in-Residence in the Max Weber Programme. She will talk about her experiences in working with academics and exchange with Roeland Scholtalbers and participants about the relationship between journalists and academic researchers. This initiative is funded by the EUI Widening Europe Programme.
