During this event, a roundtable of experts will address the upcoming European elections and the associated trends. As one of the major elections worldwide taking place in 2024, the European elections are expected to result in a right-wing swing that adds to concerns about democratic backsliding in many parts of the world, increasing distrust in politicians, and decreasing voter participation. These tendencies take place with many challenges in the background, from climate change to the war in Ukraine and the continuation cost of living crisis.
The topics discussed by the guest speakers will range from the perspectives of mainstream parties in the European elections to campaigning, messaging, and mobilisation (including disinformation and external influence). The exchange delve into the profiles of candidates and electoral lists, anticipated future alliances within groups, and the composition of the forthcoming European Commission.
The event is in presence only.
