In this lecture, Mr Naccarato Sartori will provide insights into his work with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). He will discuss the establishment of the WFP Innovation Accelerator in Munich in 2016, which has since become a global benchmark for driving innovation in the humanitarian sector, and present a case study of a concrete innovation, the Conditional On-Demand Assistance (CODA). This digital transformation tool evolved into a corporate system for WFP, enabling them and other UN agencies to harness digital technologies to transform operations worldwide.
Mr Naccarato will also delve into his current role as the Head of Innovation for WFP Kenya, which is pioneering a model for in-country innovation offices that not only enhance operational efficiency but also unlock systemic change through public-private partnerships and community-driven solutions. This lecture will offer insights into the unique challenges and opportunities of driving innovation within the public sector, with a focus on how to reimagine humanitarian aid for greater social impact.
