Moving beyond their traditional role as pedagogical tools, the workshop will discuss how textbooks serve as agenda-setters of international law, mapping the discipline and revealing its biases, gaps, and global dynamics. Key topics will include regional and country perspectives on textbooks, the sources and authors they cite, how they engage with multiple international law specialised sub-fields, as well as critical reflections on themes like coloniality, inequality, and legal education. Contributors will offer insights into how textbooks influence both the teaching and practice of international law worldwide. Register Scientific Organiser(s): Fabio Costa Morosini (EUI)
