The world has shifted dramatically since the Washington Consensus shaped global economic policies over 35 years ago. In this guest lecture, Professor Andrès Velasco will share his views on a new economic paradigm by exploring what elements, priorities and principles should be front and centre. He will highlight the importance of dynamic approaches to growth, the role of state capacity, and why a new consensus should avoid being a supermarket list of policies.
The event will be held at Palazzo Buontalenti, the premises of the Florence School of Transnational Governance, EUI. All are welcome to attend. Please register, indicating if you will attend in person or online.
