During this seminar, Eleonora Milazzo will present key findings from the Migration Research to Policy Co-Lab project on how to strengthen research-policy collaboration within Horizon-funded projects on migration.
Drawing on interviews with researchers and research users involved in these projects, the presentation will focus on the relationship between research, policy and practice. Specifically, the presentation will look at how researchers seek to distil their research messages and how they evaluate knowledge exchange in the Horizon programme. It will also illustrate how policy actors and practitioners understand research findings and their communication, and whether and how they are able to use these findings in their work. Based on the experiences of engagement of this diverse group of stakeholders, the presentation will suggest key takeaways on how to strengthen research-policy collaboration around research evidence on migration.
Dr. Eleonora Milazzo is Research Fellow at the Migration Policy Centre, where she works on research-policy collaboration in the framework of the Migration Research-to-Policy Co-Lab. She is also Senior Adviser at the European Policy Centre and Associate Fellow at the Egmont Institute in Brussels. Eleonora is the author of the book Refugee Protection and Solidarity. The Duties of EU Member States (Oxford University Press, 2023). Thematically, her work focuses on EU migration and asylum policies and the policy nexus between migration and climate change.
