This film screening is organised by the Human and Fundamental Rights Working Group.

The Human and Fundamental Rights Working Group is delighted to invite you to the film screening of Eylem Kaftan’s movie ‘A Day, 365 Hours’ (2023) for this year’s celebration of International Women’s Day.

The movie highlights the fight for justice by two young women who have been the victims of incest in Turkey. Their meeting gives them the strength to confront their attackers in court and help other women to do the same. Their poignant journey is served up by a rhythmic production that uses several cinematographic approaches to convey the urgency of the protagonists’ situation. More than a quest for justice, this moving film is about sisterhood, solidarity, and mutual support.

Additionally, the EUI Library, in collaboration with this event, will also host a Library Café in the Salviati courtyard from 15:00-16:00 with books on display celebrating Women’s Day. We are grateful to the EUI Library for their aid in getting access to this movie, and for their selection of books on display for this occasion.
