Former Italian Minister for European Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enzo Amendola presents his first novel L'Imam deve morire (2025, Mondadori). Blending historical truth and fiction around the mysterious disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr in 1978, the book reflects Amendola’s deep interest in geopolitics and Middle Eastern affairs, themes he encountered during his diplomatic work.Opened by the Mayor of Florence Sara Funaro, together with MEP Dario Nardella and EUI Secretary General Armando Barucco, the book presentation will be chaired by Federico Gianassi (Member of Parliament , Italy) and discussed by Alberto Melloni (Professor at the University of Modena and Secretary General of Fondazione Scienze Religiose in Bologna), Patrizia Giunti (President of the Giorgio La Pira Foundation) and Olivier Roy (EUI Professor).The event is in Italian.
