To enhance research opportunities, exchange knowledge and access resources in social sciences and humanities, the EUI Widening Europe Programme offers a new opportunity of short-term mobility stay at the European University Institute in Florence for doctoral researchers in one of the targeted Widening countries:

Inside the European Union: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Outside the European Union: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo1, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

This new activity marks an additional measure to connect the EUI with national Higher Education Institutions in the targeted region, improving the ongoing effort to bridge Europe's knowledge gap.

For further information on application process and eligibility criteria, read more here. Apply before 21 April 2025, 23:59 CEST.

1This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 (1999) and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.

This initiative is funded by the EUI Widening Europe Programme. With contributions from the European Union and EUI Contracting States, the programme is designed to strengthen internationalisation, competitiveness, and quality in research in targeted Widening countries, and thus foster more cohesive European Higher Education and Research Areas.
