The agreement between the EUI and a prestigious partner such as the CMB represents a further achievement in the increasing internationalisation of the EUI's academic programmes.

The agreement aims at fostering various activities in academic education and in research areas of mutual interest. The EUI and CMB will collaborate in the fields of higher education and research, working together on the promotion and facilitation of research projects, exchanges, and learning and training activities.

In particular, the EUI and CMB will support in the implementation of exchange activities between post-doctoral researchers and PhD candidates from both institutions. In this regard, up to two researchers every year from each university will have the opportunity to undertake research stays at the partner institution through a Mobility Programme, allowing them to benefit from the infrastructure and activities of both institutions.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will also facilitate the organisation of joint international scientific events and activities, including international conferences and summer schools, as well as the development of scientific publications and research outputs.

Centre Marc Bloch is a Franco-German research centre for the humanities and social sciences. As a bi-national institution, it is a place for interdisciplinary research and the training of young scientists. The CMB’s field of activity is not limited to research on France and Germany but tends toward a permanent exchange of knowledge and experience on a European and global scale. In the last years, it has widened its cooperation network especially through European partners, and the agreement with the EUI is part of this cooperation strategy.
