Chiara Binelli is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and founding Co-Director of the Center for Research and Social Progress. She has held positions at the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Southampton, the University of Oxford and Nuffield College (Post-Doctoral Research Fellow), and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (Research Scholar and Research Associate). She received her Ph.D. in Economics from University College London.Her research interests focus on Labor and Development Economics and Computational Social Science. She has worked on returns to schooling, economic and social inequality, youth unemployment, climate change perceptions, pro-environmental actions, and support for green policies. In her most recent work, she merges Economics and Data Science to study preparedness for climate change and the social impact of artificial intelligence.
