Danielle Borges is a Research Associate at the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom (CMPF) at the Robert Schuman Centre of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. Before joining the CMPF, Danielle worked as a postdoctoral researcher at DIRPOLIS Institute at the Sant’Anna School of International Studies in Pisa, Italy (2018-2020); as a visiting researcher at the Robert Schuman Centre of the European University Institute (2016-2017); and as Associate Professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2014-2016). She holds a PhD in Law and a master’s degree in International, Comparative and European Law from EUI. She also holds a master’s degree in Public Health from the Brazilian School of Public Health (ENSP/FIOCRUZ). In the last 15 years, Danielle has undertaken research in the areas of human rights and data protection, media law, consumer law and comparative law in the European Union and in South America. Her publications include peer reviewed articles, book chapters and a monograph entitled ‘EU Health Systems and Distributive Justice Towards New Paradigms for the Provision of Health Care Services?’. Besides her academic life, Danielle is a lawyer admitted to practice law in Brazil and Portugal and a member of the International Law Association (ILA).
