Elena Danescu is currently a Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre, where she is leading research on ‘The female face of the EU’. At the University of Luxembourg, Danescu serves as an accredited PhD supervisor. She is also a founding fellow of the Robert Schuman Initiative for European Affairs. She is an elected member of the University Council (2023-2028) and actively contributes to the governance of the Fondation du Mérite européen and the Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe.Danescu is principal investigator for interdisciplinary projects such as ‘Le rôle des femmes dans les relations européennes et internationales du Luxembourg’ (RelINT_EULUX: 2021-2025) and previously ‘Competition, convergence, harmonisation – a comparative analysis of taxation in the Benelux states’ (FISCOLUX: 2019-2023). She manages the Centre Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg and teaches Bachelor, Master, and PhD courses in European studies, while mentoring graduate students.She holds a PhD in Political Economics (1998) from the National Institute of Economic Research (INCE) of the Romanian Academy.
