Biography
James Dennison is a part-time Professor at the Migration Policy Centre of the European University Institute in Florence and the 2025/26 Pierre Keller Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School. He directs the Observatory of Public Attitudes to Migration (OPAM) at the MPC. His research interests include political attitudes, behaviour, and communication, migration, and quantitative methods. His work has featured in dozens of leading scientific journals. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute and has held positions at Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Stockholm, the University of Oxford, and elsewhere. He has secured numerous grants and international collaborations and regularly advises international organisations such as the United Nations, European Commission, OSCE, IOM, and ICMPD, political parties, NGOs, and private sector organisations on how to effect change with evidence-based solutions. His work has been featured repeatedly in international media such as the Financial Times, The Economist, the Guardian, the BBC, and beyond.
