Laura Macchioni is a Research Associate at the Florence School of Banking and Finance (FBF) and is currently involved in the activities of the EU Supervisory Digital Finance Academy, a Technical Support Instrument (TSI) flagship initiative aimed at strengthening the EU's supervisory capacity in innovative digital finance. In 2018, she completed her degree in International Economic and Business Studies at the University of Innsbruck, with a thesis in Macroeconomics about the behaviour of income distribution during recessions. She holds a master’s degree in European Studies of the University of Vienna, where she got familiar with internal rules of European institutions and current questions of law and politics as well as legislation at EU level. After her working experience as business developer for a digital media company in Vienna, she joined the European Banking Authority in the Economic and Risk Analysis Department in Paris. In this context, she was involved in the organisation of the annual EBA Policy Research Workshop as well as in several task force activities focusing on the Basel Framework.
