Biography

Markus Krajewski is Professor at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and holds the Chair in Public Law and Public International Law. Before joining FAU he taught at King’s College London, the University of Potsdam and the University of Bremen. Markus Krajewski studied law, economics and political science at the University of Hamburg (Germany) and the Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee (US). He obtained a Master degree (M.S.) in international affairs from FSU and his First Legal State Exam from in Hamburg. Subsequently he was Referendar at the Hamburg Court of Appeals and obtained his PhD in 2001 from the University of Hamburg.
Prof. Krajewski is one of the programme directors of the MA in Human Rights and chairperson of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg (CHREN) at FAU. He is also the Secretary-General of the German Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) and the Co-Chair of the ILA Committee on Business and Human Rights. His research focusses on international economic law, human rights, European external relations and the law of public services. He wrote four books and authored numerous contributions in scholarly journals and edited volumes. He is co-editor of the European Yearbook of International Economic Law (EYIEL). He also advises international governmental and non-governmental organisations on issues of European, international economic and human rights law and acted as consultant in different development cooperation projects.
