Biography

Michael Guterbock is an expert in international relations and global health. He is a business owner, thought leader, writer, researcher and program manager. Michael has two decades of experience in international policy coordination and health diplomacy across multiple geographies. He has worked with a diverse portfolio of organizations including private industry such as the Economist Intelligence Unit and government entities such as the US Administration for Preparedness and Response and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He possesses expertise in policy analysis, advisory services, proposal development and program implementation. Michael holds dual master's degrees in international relations and global health and is currently a doctoral candidate in international relations at The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

As a Visiting Fellow at the STG, Michael will research the geopolitics of the amendments to the International Health Regulations and their effect on low- and middle-income countries. He will also examine past failures in international health diplomacy coordination and how to build more robust and resilient agreements even between geopolitical adversaries.
