Biography

Sascha Riaz is the Peter Mair Assistant Professor of Comparative Politics at the European University Institute (EUI). Before joining the EUI, he was a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College (University of Oxford). His research examines political behavior in industrialized democracies, with a particular focus on immigration, xenophobia, and political violence. Methodologically, he specializes in causal inference and quasi-experimental research designs. He holds a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University.
