Additionally, CIVICA research projects receive financing from national funding sources and partners' own resources. This project aims to examine the problems caused by counterterrorism approaches to Islamic State returnees which prioritise the lens of child protection and safeguarding, bringing together stakeholders and academics from across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa to develop more effective European policy.
