On the 3rd June the Romanian University of Oradea conferred an honorary degree to Ariana Landuyt, Professor of contemporary history and of the Jean Monnet Chair in the History of European Integration in the department of political and international science at the University of Siena.
Many of Landuyt’s masters students in European Studies at the University of Siena – in collaboration with another dozen European universities - carried out their research at the Historical Archives of the EU. The Director and staff of the Archives would like to congratulate Professor Landuyt for the academic recognition which she received.
The prestigious award was attributed to Landuyt, member of the academic senate of the University of Oradea on the proposal of Ioan Horga, professor of European history at the Romanian university.
There were over 200 people present at the ceremony, from the academic world, local political figures, researchers and students from numerous European universities. The Italian Embassy in Bucharest also published information on the event on its site.
