2017 Winner of the Research Grant on European Public Finances announced

Posted on 28 August 2017

Andreea Hancu Budui, Master’s student at the University of Valencia, Spain, is receiving this year’s Postgraduate Research Grant on European Public Finances.

Ms Hancu Budui is the fourteenth researcher to be awarded this grant of the European Court of Auditors (ECA). Her research on “The European Court of Auditors: Auditing the European Development Funds” aims to shed light on the evolution and auditing of the European Development Funds. By analyzing the audits of European Development Funds, her research will contribute to a better understanding of the complex issues of accountability and transparency in EU public finances.

The grant scheme, which is now in its 11th year, was established by the European Court of Auditors (ECA) and the Historical Archives of the European Union in 2007. It supports researchers engaged in research on European public finances and its wider cultural and societal impact. Through this multi-disciplinary programme, researchers get access to the historical documents of the European Union deposited in Florence, which also contain the archival records of the European Court of Auditors and those of the Audit Board (1958-1977).
