'Forty years of ECA' exhibition

Posted on 22 November 2017

The European Court of Auditors recently launched an exhibition to celebrate their 40th anniversary, under the title ‘40 years in pictures: the European Court of Auditors 1977-2017’.

The exhibition, which was launched on 27 October 2017, consists of 40 posters examining the development of the ECA. It does not only showcase its official history, but also the day-to-day working life of the ECA staff members. Additionally the exhibition features ECA buildings and their host city Luxemburg.

The exhibition is organized in chronological order and displays the history of the ECA, dating all the way back to photographs of the almost empty Kirchberg plateau in the early 70s. The display aims to cover the entirety of the ECA’s institutional life. An online exhibition of the posters is also available on the 40th Anniversary Facebook Gallery.

Finally, the ECA has launched a call for ‘historic’ photos of the ECA in its early years (1977-1997). During the production of this 40th anniversary exhibition, they found that they had a limited number of pictures from this time period. They would therefore appreciate it if people could contact them if they have any photographs of events, people, buildings related to this portion of the ECA’s history.

More information on this exhibition can be found in the November issue of the European Court of Auditors Journal (page 13).
