The Historical Archives of the European Union will host the first public presentation of the audio-visual Archives of historical memories of Eastern Europe, organized by ANCI Toscana on the 9th of February 2018 at Villa Salviati.
The European-wide project entitled You2TellEU, which will be presenting its archive to the public for the first time at this event, is a transnational project which aims to involve local communities in the debate on European citizenship, through various stories and interpretations of the history of Europe. It is co-funded by strand 1 of the Europe for Citizens programme of the European Union, European Remembrance.
Its archives are made up of video interviews, produced during the You2Tell EU project, between the first generation of migrants from Eastern Europe and the second-generation youth.
The project hopes to enhance the role of the second generation, as a bridge between histories and cultures and to highlight the relationship between the local dimension and international history, to see through the migrants’ eyes and through their heritage and memories.
Each speaker will present their presentation in their native language (Italian, Portuguese, English). To register for the event, click here
