During the current academic year, the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Rome La Sapienza hosts the travelling exhibition Ever Closer Union– The legacy of the Treaties of Rome for Today’s Europe (1957-2017), which illustrates the process of European Integration from the signature of the Treaties of Rome up to the current challenges through documents and photos.
On this occasion, the Department for European Politics, which is part of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, will host the conference “Il percorso di democratizzazione dell’ Unione Europea” on Wednesday, 16 October at 16:00 in the Aula Calasso. During the conference, the organizers of the exhibition “Ever Closer Union”, including HAEU Director Dieter Schlenker, will illustrate the project.
The exhibition “Ever Closer Union” was inaugurated on 16 March 2017 in Rome, Italy, to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the signature of the Rome Treaties (25 March 1957). Since then, it has been presented in more than 120 European and non-European locations. Together with the HAEU, the exhibition has been organized by the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the National News Agency ANSA.
The exhibition is available in 29 languages and in digital format, as well as online.
