The International Institute for Archival Science of Trieste and Maribor (IIAS) organizes, jointly with the Alma Mater Europaea - ECM, the 14th IIAS Autumn Archival School, from 7 to 12 December 2020.
Targeting professional archivists, this year’s Autumn Archival School focuses on the topics of digital archiving and electronic archives. The first two days are dedicated to the conference “30th International Archives Day”, while the Archival School, organized around conferences, seminars and workshops, will begin on 9 December.
The International Institute for Archival Science (IIAS) is a successor of the Centre for Technical and Professional Problems in Archives, founded in 1986 in Maribor. The Institute has been hosted by the Italian State Archives in Trieste since 2005 according to a protocol signed with the Italian Ministry of Culture's Department for Archives and Libraries, while this year’s conference will take place in online mode. The Autumn Archival School, organised since 2007 in Trieste, offers a post-graduate weekly course in an international environment with English as working language. Lectures address topics concerning archival science, the digital documentation and management of archives, archival ethics, and the European and international archival legislation.
